I am employed at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture. In 1990 I received a university degree in civil engineering, and in 2010 I was awarded the title of Doctor of Science in the field of technical sciences, mechanics and civil engineering. I am a holder and coordinator of courses in the field of structural analysis and concrete structures. More than 150 supervised final theses and high marks on student surveys keep me in professionally oriented educational work. I research the practical applicability of BIM.

As a student, I gained work experience at Gradis Design Bureau in Maribor from 1988 to 1989. From 1991 to 1994 I was employed as a structural engineer in Vienna at Vienna Consulting Engineers. In 1995, at the time of the biggest Slovenian investment project – the construction of motorways, I started working for the company Družba za državne ceste (National Road Construction Company), where I was the supervising engineer for the construction of the Šentilj-Pesnica motorway section. Before I started my work at the university, I was employed as a structural engineer and designer at the company GGP Projekt.
