Assist. Prof. Matija Gams, PhD

Curriculum Vitae (CV):

He has an academic degree in engineering. He received the University Prešeren Award for his diploma thesis. After receiving his PhD in civil engineering from the University of Ljubljana, he worked at the National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, investigating the seismic resistance of masonry structures, and from 2016 to 2018 he led their Structural Department. In 2011, he received the National Research Agency Award for outstanding achievements in the field of technology. Since 2018 he has been employed at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering as a university teacher, where he teaches subjects in the field of building structures.

He has been a member of various scientific committees and panels (RILEM, CIB, SIST, CEN). From 2015 to 2018 he was a member of the publishing board of the journal Gradbeni vestnik, and has been its member again since 2020. Since 2016, he has been a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Masonry Research and Innovation. He is an active reviewer for many international scientific journals.

His research work focuses on seismic resistance of buildings. As of 2021, he has published 36 original scientific articles, 50 articles in national and international scientific conferences, and several professional articles and studies.
