The most suitable method of drying out damp walls can be determined on the basis of an analysis of the reasons for dampness, the structure of the walls and characteristics of the buildings, the properties of the material used and the future function of the building. Several practical cases are presented of the drying out of the walls in buildings with different functions, including a damp-absorbing stone-masonry wall, brick masonry walls, a three-layered wall with non-damp-absorbing stone-masonry core and brick facings, and a porous concrete wall.
