Contribution to the computation of rectangular tanks and continually crosswise reiforced slabs after the Cross’ method

Synopsis
This article considers the way of computation of clamping moments of rectangular tanks constructed of crosswise reinforced slabs and continuous crosswise reinforced slabs after the Cross’ method, very known and utilised one in the theory of linear structures-frames.
The article exposes the principles and gives some practical particulars for computation e. g.: determination of rigidity of slabs from a table of rigidity numbers, elastic clamping of slabs on different edges, par-
tition coefficients, calculation of full clamping moments and theoretical principles of determining the transfer coefficients for both directions of slabs taking account of the general theory of elasticity of slabs. Given are some practical directions for computation, two tables of transfer coefficients for different rations of slabs and various systems of clamping. The article concludes with an illustrative example of usability of the method.
