Navigable connection from the basin of the Danube river to the Adriatic Sea

NAVIGABLE CONNECTION FROM THE BASIN OF THE DANUBE RIVER TO THE ADRIATIC SEA
The European inland navigation is directed mainly to the North Sea and to the Atlantic Ocean, meanwhile to the Mediterranean there is only one way in the south France, and the other, to the Black Sea is 2000 km away. The most favourable connection between the Basin of the Danube River, Adriatic Sea, and Italy is through Slovenia. The way would lead through the Vukovar—Samac Canal and on the canalized River Sava to Ljubljana. Further on, from Ljubljana to the
s is
sea, there are three variants discussed in detail. The article gives the economic analysis of the navigable connection from the Basin of the Danube River to the Adriatic Sea. In conclusion an appeal is made for not refusing in advance this navigable connection. It has to be studied first. All larger arrangements of these river basins are then to be made according to the results of the investigation.
