Synopsis

The most important task of Slovene enterprises after the earthquake in Skopje was the building of the new settlement Vlae. The following object were built: 449 house buildings with 897 dwellings, 30 provisional objects with 120 dwellings, a school with 15 schoolrooms, 14 shops, 1 children’s garden institution, 1 restaurant, 1 boiler house for heating of the erected object. There were other building works to be done in the settlement: 54.900 sq.m of asphalt roads, 19.620m1 of water conduit pipes, 18.320 m1 of sewerage, 25.000 m1 of electric cables. 51 atrium houses were built in settlement Vodno.

This task could be carried out only in co-operation of numerous Slovene firmes such as: building and industrial enterprises, and enterprises for house assembling. Practical experiences gained during this building will help in further suitable development of house assembling. The results of this building pointed out the necessity of greater attention which is to be paid to the organization of prefabricated elements production as well as to building works planning and effect specifications.
